Ask An Umpire
We encourage umpires and coaches with general or specific questions about rules, implementing rules, or special situations to "ask an umpire" for clarification. Please send your questions to Ask An Umpire and we'll follow-up with a response.

Carding Procedures
Carding rules have changed:
- Issuance of cards should be considered a warning to all players
- Automatic yellow cards: check to the head, slash, dangerous propelling, dangerous follow-through
- Any repeated foul or dangerous play can be carded
- Two yellow cards given to a player or coach is a suspension. She may not return to the game. Her team will play one player down for 3 minutes of elapsed playing time. A coach receiving 2 yellow cards must leave the area of the game (including the spectator area).
- Delay of game cards (green cards):
- First green card is given to the team captain
- Second green/yellow card is given to the offender. No penalty.
- Third green/red card is given to offender, she must leave the field for 3 minutes of playing time. A substitute MUST take her place.
- Misconduct: Misconduct by players, coaches, or spectators will not be tolerated and will be penalized by issuance of a yellow or red card to the offender. In the event that the umpire cannot identify the person responsible for the misconduct, the head coach will be assessed the penalty
- A red card is an ejection from the game. Any player or coach receiving a red card is not allowed to participate in the team’s next game. WWLUA has adopted a Red Card Reporting Policy
